A High RISK CON Game

By Kailasa Candra dasa

Second of a Three-Part Series

“Spiritual knowledge, or Sarasvati, hides her real identity from those who are proud, foolish, attached to material enjoyment, and absorbed in the false ego of thinking themselves the doers; in her shadow form of Dushta Sarasvati, she deceives them by awarding them benedictions. Though such puffed-up people who receive her benedictions are able to conquer the three worlds, they are eligible for being totally defeated by the Supreme Lord, Who is the ultimate giver of all benedictions.” Sri Caitanya-bhagavat, Adi khanda, 13.22

Upon cursory inspection, it appears that the struggle is between the Western “devotees” (represented by “ISKCON,” Neo-Mutt, and the rittviks) and the demoniac or atheistic classes.  Peeling away some layers of the glass onion, it may appear (upon closer inspection) that the deeper struggle is amongst and between these groups themselves, in terms of which one of them (amidst irreconcilable contradictions of philosophy, process, and especially hierarchy they all hold) represents the guru-parampara.  There can be no doubt, of course, that considerable tension is present amongst and between these cults, and there is even a great deal of that same tension found within intra-party conflicts.  However, none of this is where the real demarcation of the spiritual struggle is located.

The degraded souls of Kali yuga become more so due to their various group concepts, particularly amongst the upper echelons, all of which have nothing whatsoever to do with Reality.  You cannot become self-realized when you falsely think that you are already so, and you cannot fall down from a fallen state.  All of the leaders of these three abovementioned pseudo-spiritual societies are fallen, and their having taken physical bodies in anti-Vedic cultures has helped to augment that falldown.

They are all also violent.  That violence is generally subtle, but it is nevertheless vicious and ruthless.  These deceptive leaders have deluded themselves and their followers into believing that concocted and limited fragments of Krishna conscious principles, so-called universal laws—principles that they grafted onto a once bona fide superstructure--constitute the exclusive religion of this world.  This belief ignites a potent blend of fanaticism; it is completely sectarian and loaded with dogma and triumphalism.  Both the leaders and the “true believers” are out of touch with atma-tattva.  They look at life in a different way than what it actually is, but even this is not the main point.

The point is that, at the penultimate octave, the bogus groups are unified.  They will run each other through the grease in order to keep a productive follower or patron—or, better yet, to steal one away from another group—but the penultimate unity remains unfettered.  This is because they share the same pulse at that level, viz., they are against the Krishna consciousness that Srila Prabhupada represented and wanted. They glorify time-place-and-circumstance “adjustments” (read, compromises) that are conducive to material results--and the apparent progress such results entail.  They are united in this heartbeat, but there is another related factor that goes almost completely unrecognized.

The Real Battle Line

“Therefore, in all spheres of devotional service, freedom is the main pivot. Without freedom, there is no execution of devotional service. The freedom surrendered to the Lord does not mean that the devotee becomes dependent in every respect. To surrender unto the Lord through the transparent medium of the spiritual master is to attain complete freedom of life.” Srimad Bhagavatam, 1.6.37, purport

“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”              The Wizard of Oz

What did Prabhupada want?  All these abovementioned groups believe that he wanted something that actual devotees, yogis, and transcendentalists of the Lord, even here in the West, utterly despise.  The mutual contempt between them and these three particular factions is extremely thick, but it remains non-conceptualized for the most part.  The discussion of the D.O.M. is related, at least indirectly, to the real battle line.

In order to be genuinely effective, Krishna consciousness must and can only be spread in the West, in America in particular, as a system of knowledge, process, action, and realization that is fully conducive to individual freedom.  Genuine Krishna consciousness produces mukti for its faithful adherent; further spiritual progress is facilitated from there.  Mukti is attained during the stage of vidhi sadhana-bhakti, although few transcendentalists (ostensibly in the line) recognize this.  Krishna consciousness is all about freedom; form must always be subservient to the devoted actors and actresses who have taken to the process.

That is not what is going on within the deviant groups, however.  Instead, following in the footsteps of so many religious cults, sects, and denominations from the past, form, hierarchy, and bureaucracy have been glorified as tantamount to realization in the divine science.  Stealing their way up the latticework of the bureaucracy, these power-hungry “devotees” then create massive impositions on the freedom-loving section of transcendentalists.  They construct a roof from which few, once under, can break through the tarmac.  Institutional delusions are present in all three deviant groups, based upon shibboleths that have all emanated from the great sinister movement, the so-called Goudiya Mutt.

The poison is in personal ambition, but it very easily disguises itself when institutional moha awards artificial prominence to sold out members who push its power by attracting wealthy patrons to subsidize the thing.  That block power is then distributed back throughout the borg, and each of the loyal racketeers secures his own special seat for turning the screws behind unlimited layers of curtains that protect him (or her) from being seen for just what he actually is—and, more importantly, what he is actually up to.  They appear to be the doers, of course, particularly since they are glorified for pulling off the whole scam in the first place.

They have knowledge, personal power, and an ability to act which is different from the norm. Nevertheless, they are engaged in oppressing the section of devotees who are trying to spread Krishna consciousness, as opposed to enforced acceptance of an institution through some kind of oath of blind allegiance—and all that entails.

Here is where the D.O.M. must be understood in its true import.  It is anything but a panacea.  However, if it somehow or other becomes implemented, then the orders of the spiritual master have finally been followed here—after having been neglected for practically a generation.  That feat alone will afford a slight glimpse of mercy from the Paramatma, who will then signal from within a section still not completely sealed off from His grace, that, “You have done some good.  Now recognize just how much more you must do.”

The Red Pill or the Blue Pill

"If a guru accepts someone ineligible as a disciple, the guru will have to suffer. If a disciple takes on an unqualified, so-called spiritual master, that disciple will be forced to suffer. In order to avoid these great misfortunes, every devotee must be cautious. Similarly, when both guru and disciple are properly qualified, the relationship continues unimpeded. This relationship is supposed to be eternal, but if a disciple becomes evil, the guru must reject him.  If the spiritual master falls down and becomes evil, the disciple must reject him.  If either of these strictures is ignored, both fall; in such circumstances, it is better when only one of them falls.” Bhaktivinode Thakur, Harinam-cintamani

The vitiated GBC, the controlling node of the fabricated, so-called “ISKCON” confederation, is banking on the principle of forgetfulness, especially in terms of all-pervading Western ignorance about Vedic and Vaishnava formulas relating to sampradaya.  The D.O.M. discussion undermines such a general tendency to merge back into avidya.  The D.O.M. reminds everyone that the GBC is limited in both its power and relevancy as per guru, initiation, and real freedom.  The D.O.M. reminds everyone that the GBC is supposed to be a body elected regularly by temple presidents of the Society, who themselves are supposed to be elected by local practitioners serving in those temples.  It is not within the power of the GBC to interfere with the genuine process of Vaishnava initiation and connection to parampara, but interfere in a big institutional way is just what it has done for the past three decades.

“. . . INITIATION is based on what are known as . . . mysteries. . . (The) ‘Arcanum’ (in English, also often called Trump) is a mystery, necessary for the cognition of a definite kind and number of things, laws or principles; a mystery without which one cannot operate, since the necessity of that cognition has been born in us; a mystery accessible to a mind strong and curious enough to see that knowledge.” Mauni Sadhu, The Tarot

The vitiated GBC has interfered with the process as it is explicitly spelled out in Vaishnava scriptures; the perfection in spiritual life and attainment of real freedom cannot be had wherever such interference remains ascendant.  The unbroken chain of guru to disciple—a disciple who then, if he is fortunate, becomes guru in his own right--does not require the rubber stamp of any certificate.  It functions according to the will of the sampradaya, but the vitiated GBC defies that very parampara in the form of institutional concoctions.  It worms its way into the system, and the D.O.M., if it is even finally implemented, may be able to serve as a kind of body block to check such malefic momentum.

However, in order for any of this to unfold, the devotees of the Lord have to decide that they no longer want to remain asleep and forget all of the ramifications, repercussions, and intricacies.  The devotees of the Lord—the real workers in ultimate transcendence—did not come to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada for superficial or sentimental reasons.  They did not come to him in order to be turned into fanatics. They came in order to work for the Hare Krishna movement of Krishna consciousness. In the process of such great and freedom-conducive effort, they came to make progress in attaining perfection in spiritual life.

They understand the occult force that is the wellspring of eternity, perfect knowledge, true power, and real happiness.  They came to Srila Prabhupada because they knew that he had this, and, just as importantly, he could deliver it to them.  They knew that he had full mystic powers.  Above and beyond that, they knew that he was a prematura-bhakta impelled by overwhelming love of Godhead in the realm of Goloka.

They did not follow him in order to become playthings in the hands of motivated, ambitious men who have ruthlessly stolen his movement in order to fulfill their own temporal ends.  The vitiated commissioners have manipulated their way into institutional positions of prominence and power, and they have created something completely unauthorized in the process.  They have captured the means of production through a kind of chicanery that is paradoxically and simultaneously both subtle and gross.  Like a kind of EMP explosion, they turned out the lights in the late Seventies, and everything went black.

What they have done, although differently manifested, is nevertheless nothing great or special.  As the Bible says, “There is nothing new under the sun.”  How they were able to pull it off can be understood, and it behooves us to assimilate the realization.  In order to do so, we have to refrain from taking the pill that puts us back under the avaranatmika-shakti.

We shall soon introduce a quote from a Western classic, well known in most university settings and penned by a theistic author from the late Nineteenth Century.  In it, he provides some clues that can help us to understand the modus operandi of the vitiated GBC. With such added perspective and realization (from our subsequent discussion of the aforementioned classic), every sincere and serious reader should be able to see just what the D.O.M. and the Topmost Urgency affidavit stand for, as well as their potential value in the great struggle.

Any Monkey Can Do It

“We are not much concerned about the temple, because temple worship is not primary factor in this age; primary factor is sankirtana.” Letter to Mukunda, May 27, 1969

“You have asked me to tell you whether you are right or (should) carry on by following the foolish advice of Kirtanananda, and I say straight that Kirtanananda is wrong and you are right when you say that the movement will come to nothing if I am not satisfied with your actions.” Letter to Damodar, Oct. 13, 1967

Corrupt Peace Officer: “You can’t kill a cop!”
Tony Montana: “Who said choose a cop?” Scarface

A blazing fire, with many enthralled and nicely-dressed participants chanting hymns and throwing perfectly good and nutritious rice and bananas into it, does not automatically constitute the transmission of the bhakti-lata-bija into the chelas enamored by the show.  Similarly, just because milk and water are profusely poured by pukka so-called brahmins over marble excavated from Rajasthani rock mines doesn’t mean that the Supreme Couple has automatically been called upon to become non-different from such forms; it requires authorization of the Acharya in order for the transcendental event to transpire.

If the accusation is made that I am an iconoclast, well maybe I was—until I came into contact with Srila Prabhupada, that is.  I fully accepted and believed in all the Deities authorized by the Acharya, particularly during my service to him in the Seventies.  I worshipped Them and still believe in Their spiritual divinity, despite the astral larva and aparadha (avidhhi-purvakam) that now surrounds Them.  During the manifest lila of His Divine Grace, the Deities on those altars—with the exception of one pair (not authorized but, against his specific wishes, “installed” anyway)—were sanctioned.  As such, we believed in Them and worshipped Them.

That was then, and this is now. The fabricated, so-called “ISKCON” is actually run by fiat issued from its first-echelon controllers working through imposed facilitation provided by a GBC simulacrum. Questioning its mandated faith in any and all altar forms and ceremonial ritual has become the unspoken third rail of the imposition, and that fear is the pivot upon which it continues to function.

To challenge in another way: If a fire sacrifice transpired (in such a beautiful and pukka manner!), then how can anyone dare question the legitimacy of its claims to having been conducted as a genuine, Vaishnava inititation ceremony?  If a similar sacrifice was conducted to forms in such a mesmerizing and pukka manner, then how can anyone dare question the legitimacy of its claims to having installed a Goloka Deity in some new satellite center?

Do you dress in the same pukka way as these “great men” do every day?  Do you daily adorn your physical bodies with saffron and clay like them?  Do you conduct these kinds of yajnas?  Who are you to question these pukka men as they conduct their rituals?  Who are you to dare say that they are not genuine gurus?  Doesn’t the bare fact of these rituals going down confirm those who are conducting them must be gurus?  Doesn’t the bare fact that their disciples conduct arati on the altars confirm that they must be legitimately initiated?  Who are you to say otherwise?

Well, pukka me!  Listen closely, and you may hear the loyal choir sweetly singing in the background, “You can’t always get what you want.”  If enough people believed in three-dollar bills, then, when such notes began to circulate, citizens would exchange goods for them.  Belief is not without importance, but we must remember that this remains the science of Krishna consciousness; it is not based upon sentiment or fanaticism.  It is and must be logical at the stages of its building blocks, and this is one of the factors that distinguished Prabhupada and his movement from every other mystic “guru” who came to America.

The whole thing has been off the rails since the spring of 1978; those eleven men were not authorized (by parampara) to do what they did.  Their scheme was, and still is, based upon image and illusion; compartmentalizing that will not make it go away.  Once you make a compromise anywhere, eventually you will compromise everywhere.  All of the rationalizations propounded to excuse this thing--so that, somehow or other, it can carry on--amount to nothing more than hundreds of three-dollar bank notes.  The currency floats, but those remain fiat bills nevertheless.

It’s the temple presidents who decide who and who does not go up on the altar, but anyone can be trained to do it.  If the tee-pee does not satisfy his GBC specifically (and the GBC in general), he won’t be able to remain in that cushy position for long.  Anyone can learn how to shower, dress in clean cloth, shave the head, slip on a two-paise thread, ring zee bill and wave da dhoop.  It requires only basic training; any monkey can do it.

The whole thing is quite mechanical, and the process is not difficult to imitate.  Who says these new people are initiated brahmins?  Who says that the eleven pretender mahabhagavats actually were empowered to initiate disciples into the line?  Who says that a guru can enact institutional anarthas and deceptions and still actually be diksa-guru?

The Grand Inquisitor Revisited

“You are a good worker. All my disciples they are good boys, intelligent, and hard working. I pray to Krishna that you all may use your intelligence for Krishna's service and not for any personal ambition. We have worked very hard and established a great institution, but if we think for our personal benefit, then it will become ruined. This is my only concern.” Letter to Cyavana Swami, Nov., 1, 1974

“Yes, we've paid dearly for it, but at last we have completed that work in your name.” Fyodor Dostoevsky, “The Grand Inquisitor”

“If you want my answer, Senator, you can have it now.  My answer is this: Nothing.  I give you nothing.” Michael Corleone, Godfather II

If you say that anyone, failing to fall in line with some institutional hierarchy (and its so-called ideological and religious dogma), cannot be burned at the stake in America, of course we agree.  America is a liberal democracy with an economic system that is capitalist/socialist at this time.  It is a completely secular system, and its current President, despite heated rhetoric to the contrary, is not at all ideological—at least, not in terms of any screed from sectarian philosophies, sects, or cults.

However, time changes things.  We may be on the verge of a transition to a quantum transformation, comparable to the transformation that took place when the Industrial Revolution replaced the landed gentry.  Such a wrenching transformation may turn out to be retrograde and just as material as the current political, military, economic, and social arrangement.  At this time in America, the monied class dominates; economic power trumps ideological power, military power, and political power.

That arrangement is not carved in stone, however, and deals that fly at this time may be turned down cold in the near future, especially during the period of transition.  Offers that now would yield results may bring nothing at all in the future for those that offer them.

Fyodor Dostoevsky wrote about the reappearance of Christ in Seville during the height of the Spanish Inquisition.  The Grand Inquisitor, a local representative of Torquemada, sees this Christ-like figure perform a miracle (he raises a baby from the dead) and orders the man arrested.  The majority of the tale consists of a kind of monologue that the Grand Inquisitor has with this Christ in his jail cell, although the defendant never speaks a word during the whole ordeal.

We shall delve more deeply into this topic in the final part of our series.  For now, however, let us touch upon just one point that the Inquisitor made to this semblance of Christ, who had the divine love that Ishas Kristos radiated over twenty centuries ago.  Basically, the Inquisitor admonished his adversary, informing him that they (the Church) had secured what he (the Christ) had made almost impossible to be attained back when he roamed Palestine.  The Inquisitor says that they have, quite ironically, accomplished all of this in his (the Christ’s) name.

What the Grand Inquisitor says is that the great representatives of their own institutional delusion have created in the flock is a sense of automatic deliverance.  They have freed the people of the burden of free will that Christ had emphasized.  They have convinced the people, who have taken the wrong pill, that they simply have to follow the Church and all will be well at the time of death for every single one of them.

The Grand Inquisitor tells the inmate that he and the rest of the Church have paid dearly for what Christ had preached, but they have been able to reverse all of it in his name and in the name of the Father.  The Inquisitor makes a very eloquent presentation, containing no lack of challenges and stark admissions of honesty.  The Grand Inquisitor actually believes that he loves the people more than Christ ever did, and he similarly believes that this is especially demonstrated when he burns heretics at the stake—the ones who do not kow-tow to the Church.

As Frank Zappa sang: “It can’t happen here.  No, it can’t happen here.”  Well, not now.  However, if the fabricated, so-called “ISKCON” remains unchallenged in its practiced black art of putting everyone it hypnotizes to sleep, this dangerous cult may one day achieve power behind the throne.  Yes, that could only be in a radically different world, but such quantum transformations have taken place periodically (in times of great stress, of course) throughout the history of Kali Yuga.  The vitiated GBC represent the seeds that could eventually sprout into a Spanish Inquisition in due course of time.  If you can’t see it, let us help you; if you refuse to see it, that’s another thing altogether.

A High Risk Con Game Part 1

"Genuine. As a new man to Krishna Consciousness the first thing that hits you after Srila Prabhupada's wonderful gifts to us, is the extreme fragmentation and conflict of his movement. I quickly found myself asking the question “What the is this mess?” How could any serious seeker of the absolute find any spiritual value in the mechanical mud slinging, self aggrandizing and morally destitute ashes of Srila Prabhupada's once pure movement. Genuine.Logically you know that there must be some sincere disciples out there who really get it, who genuinely follow what their Spiritual Master preached. Kailasa Candra prabhu is such a disciple. He has provided a clear line of sight for anyone wishing to wade through all the B.S out there. Once again with the second part of the article “High R iskcon Game” Kailasa Candra sheds light onto the dark corners of the movement while simultaneously providing real leadership for the Vaishnava Foundation. If you want to continue to be a machine then keep on trucking, if not then I have found that the V.F. Is an excellent alternative.Genuine. Sincerely bhakta Joseph"
